As artificial intelligence (AI) technology advances so too does our ability to create bots that can replicate human conversation. In fact, many experts believe that we are now on the cusp of a bot revolution. This is great news for businesses and consumers alike, as the quality and feel of bots continues to improve.

As a result, we can expect to see greater use of bots in the coming years. Thanks to this technological progress, we will soon have even more opportunities to utilize these bots for a variety of tasks.

And so, we at Alloxentric believe the following six predictions will prove true in the near future:

  1. Propensity in the use of voice bots that convey emotions and generate voices with improved quality.

An important reason why conversational bots have gained popularity is the advance in natural language processing and artificial intelligence. In light of these advances, the adoption rate of bots as a whole may continue to rise. Bots can now convey emotions more effectively or learn information more adeptly in any given situation due to the advancements in natural language processing and artificial intelligence. Voice bots will continue to be innovated and improved due to the many advantages they offer over traditional user interfaces, including better accuracy, less manual input from the customers, and ease of use on multiple platforms. Consequently, this results in higher customer satisfaction since increased empathy is possible during these interactions.

  1. Use of analytical tools to understand what customers and users say in the different networks and communication channels of the company.

Analytical tools will continue to grow in importance in many companies’ use to learn how their bots interact with customers and enhance customer relationships. These tools monitor not only quantitative metrics such as bounce rates, conversion rates, and retention rates but also qualitative indicators such as user comprehension and human-to-bot communications. Businesses can make more informed decisions, analyze customer interaction with bots, and identify areas for improvement using analytical tools. These indicators are not only useful for analyzing the bot’s performance but also for improving customer journeys and marketing strategies.

  1. Increase in language understanding models from such as GPT-3 and Megatron Turing.

In traditional text generation algorithms, human-written narratives can be programmed to generate artificially intelligent text that displays many of the qualities of human writing. However, the new generation of models, such as GPT-3 and Megatron Turing, can train themselves from the content they find online and generate original content far more efficiently than humans. Therefore, it is likely we will see an increase in companies implementing these sophisticated models into the creation of their bots so that they can develop content and understand language more effectively.

  1. Development of more powerful cards for training AI models, with a significant increase in memory.

Memory is now one of the most difficult problems in deep neural networks (DNNs). For training, these networks require large graphics processing units and CPUs with superior memory-to-processor balance; as training becomes more complex, larger capacity graphics cards may be necessary for efficient performance. There will be significant advances in performance from graphics cards that will be more efficient than CPUs and GPUs today. For example, Graphcore’s IPU for machine learning offers a better balance between memory and computes on chip, thereby resulting in impressive increases in performance efficiency over today’s CPUs/GPUs. This suggests that larger graphics cards will be required in the future.

  1. Consolidation of text channels such as Discord and Signal, with a growing penetration in young segments.

Despite its success, WhatsApp will continue to lose users to competing text-messaging channels like Discord or Signal, which are popular alternatives to the app. Because of WhatsApp’s lack of security, many people have switched to these alternatives, and we will continue to see a significant decline in its utilization. Furthermore, these new text channels provide a broader range of methods to engage with other communities and provide a higher level of privacy than WhatsApp now provides. Discord, for example, is ideal for gamers wishing to connect with like-minded groups, while Signal has superior privacy features such as end-to-end encryption and less user data collecting.

  1. Increase in the search from customers for solutions in product user communities.

Online forums will continue to grow in popularity and will contribute to a shift from traditional customer service channels to users searching for solutions. We will see companies that did not previously use customer forums in their customer support methods beginning to cultivate and utilize them; as an alternative, these will be an easy and cost-effective way for companies to support their products and services.

We can be sure that the future will hold a lot of advancements in technology. As a result, we’ll soon have more opportunities to utilize these bots for various tasks!
